Come be a part of pushing down poverty and rising up hope.

Theologians, academics, and seasoned practitioners will converge for a weekend to provide meaningful and applicable dialogue and direction on how we can abolish poverty in rural Appalachia.

What is our hope of this intense two days of rapid-fire stimulation?  Unexpected connections. Extraordinary insights. Powerful inspiration. A way to change the world.

The second annual Abolishing Poverty in Appalachia forum will take place September 10 & 11 at First Broad Street United Methodist Church.  Powerful speakers from the United Methodist Church and other denominations will gather to converse over the theology of abolishing poverty, the multiple dimensions of poverty, how to find long range solutions, how congregations can engage in the effort, and which policy changes would have the greatest affect on poverty.
